Assalam aleikum!

My name is Maryam. I’m an integrative counsellor offering modern, faith-based support for sisters who wish to regain their strength after trauma or who are navigating challenging stages in their lives.
I hold an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the International Islamic University Malaysia, a Level 2 Certification in Counselling, and a Diploma in Relationship Counselling. I am a former member of the British Psychological Society and am currently training in hypnotherapy to deepen my therapeutic approach.
I have experience supporting clients through trauma, divorce, relationship challenges, pre-marriage concerns, life balance, low confidence, and providing support for revert sisters.
In my sessions, I aim to create a safe, compassionate, and collaborative space where you can explore your experiences at a pace that feels right for you. Together, we’ll work towards greater self-understanding, emotional healing, and renewed inner strength—helping you reconnect with your true potential and build a more peaceful, fulfilling future.

FAQ
What is counselling?
Counseling is a professional, confidential process that provides a safe space to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. It’s a supportive relationship where you can talk openly about challenges, gain new insights, and develop healthier ways to cope and grow.
Who can benefit?
Integrative faith-based counseling is helpful for anyone who wants to address emotional, mental, or relational challenges while also honoring their spiritual beliefs. It’s designed for people who see their faith as an important part of their healing and personal growth.
You may benefit from this approach if you:
Want counseling that respects and incorporates your spiritual values.
Are struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, or life transitions and want to draw strength from your faith.
Are facing questions about purpose, identity, or faith.
Wish to integrate prayer, scripture, or spiritual practices into your therapy.
Want a holistic approach that nurtures your mind, body, and spirit.
How are sessions conducted?
Online sessions: offered through a Google meet platform, allowing you to meet from the privacy of your home or anywhere you feel comfortable.
Is everything I share confidential?
Yes. Everything you share in sessions is confidential, except in specific situations where I’m legally required to break confidentiality (such as if someone is in danger). I’ll explain these exceptions clearly before we begin.
What kind of techniques I use?
Integrative faith based counselling.
How do I know if counseling is working?
How long does each session last, and how often should it be?
What can I expect in my first counseling session?
The first session is mostly about getting to know you — your background, goals, and what brought you to counseling. It’s also a chance for you to ask questions and see if you feel comfortable.
Sessions usually last 50–60 minutes. Many clients start with weekly sessions, but we can adjust the frequency based on your needs and schedule.
You might notice feeling more self-aware, less overwhelmed, and more in control of your thoughts or emotions. Progress looks different for everyone, and we’ll review it together regularly.
Can I ask for a special offer or discounted rate?
Of course! You’re very welcome to reach out to me to discuss special rates or package options. I understand that finances can be a concern, and I’m happy to talk with you about what might work best for your situation. Please feel free to send me a message so we can discuss the details together.
I can no more attend my session, can I get a refund?
Yes, you can get a full refund as long as you cancel your session 24 hours before the booked time.
